For generations, my family and so many others have chosen pain over destiny. We have settled for less than what we deserved because something in our past convinced us we were not good enough to live a free and fulfilled life.
Something in our past told us that we were only meant to be hoes, pimps, and thugs, witches, drug addicts, abusers, liars, molestors because we did not know who we were in Christ. We settled for the next worst thing because we have everyone around us letting us know this was life and it was better to conform than stand apart from the crowd.
Everyone wants destroy what’s good because we have all been exposed to things that were wicked and ungodly. There are many who don’t trust good because they believe it will not last long. Addicted to pain because we know it’s reliable and dependable so why not try and reach for something different.
Coming from a unhealed and imbalanced place, it’s feels good to kill, steal and destroy with your mouth and hands because it makes you feel that you have control. Control feels like power. It feels like freedom and it feels like worthiness. Especially when you are in a position where all of your choices, opinions, and happiness lies in the hands of others. Your power was not meant to kill steal and destroy, but it was meant to bring forth love, bring forth peace, and create.
The time has come for all to be fruitful and multiple. Many of us will not be able to do so unless we decide to choose our destiny over our pain. We cannot be who our parents want us to be. (There are many are still deciding who they are today.) We cannot be who our friends like to proclaim who we are , and we cannot rely on the opinions of others to dictate our future.
There are so many people who want to tell others how to live a life that should only be determined by God, who is the one who created us all. We are all spiritual beings living a human experience. There are too many us who would rather attend to the physical than the Divine spiritual ( Holy Spirit).
God blessed those with pure hearts with their destiny in which they have displayed kindness, patience , love with a pure heart, spiritual maturity, commitment, and perseverance. Truth be told we would all love to live a life without pain, but being honest it is impossible to grow and not to endure it.
That’s why many call it “growing pains”. If you going to hurt at least hurt for the good and not for the worst. No one was put on this earth to cause more harm to others, but so many of us have decided that will be our destiny and our purpose in life because of the mistakes, wrongdoing, and fallbacks were have committed too.
Many want the power of God, but do not know how to carry the weight effectively, which is why many would rather pretend that to “be” than to walk with authenticity. Authenticity requires work, focus, and letting go.
You must be prepared to fight for your destiny not because God says it’s not meant to be, but because your destiny will produce more God (light) in this world. Here is five concepts to consider when choosing your destiny over your pain:
1.Recognize and Appreciate God’s Grace
As a child, many of us are pure and innocent, but it is the ways of the world that promote us to indulge in sin and evilness . For generations, many have looked past God’s Grace upon their life and took advantage of it including myself.
Thinking that I had more time to do what I want rather than to submit to who God was calling me to be.
In order, to chose destiny over pain, you must recognize how gracious God truly is, where he did not want any of us to live a suffering, depleted, and defeated life. God want us to live abundant life filled with love, peace, joy, and prosperity.
Our purpose is to obtain the spirit of God and use our gifts for his glory. We work over time to serve others and please people why not serve a God who is amazing, loving, caring, giving, healer, restorer, protector, provider, and so much more. People will fail us but will not. He will always put us in a position to grow and mature. This is where the pain comes in.
Titus 2:11-12 CEV, “God has shown us undeserved grace by coming to save all people. He taught us to give up our wicked ways and our worldly desires and to live decent and honest lives in this world.”
Jesus is more than what religion shows us who he truly. Religion only show a small glimpse of who God truly is. That’s why it meant for you to obtain a relationship with God so you can find out who you really are through him and not the world.
2. Acknowledge That God Wants to Give You a Future
When you are unhealed, drama and trauma is all you will seek because it is usually all that you are familiar with. Anxiety creeks in because you are afraid of experiencing another traumatic situation twice, while you are torturing yourself mentally to experience the traumatic situation more than once.
Pain can be very addicting because it’s reliable and predictable. You know what to expect when you get it and you can trust it will make its way back into your life. Now, you see why so many believe that pain is their future than love, peace, joy, and prosperity?
Anxiety keeps you from moving forward and living in the gift that God has grant you with (present moment). God wants people to know that with him you have a secure future that does not require stealing, destroying, and killing other people and their possessions just to call it your own. You have the ability to be fruitful and multiple. You must be willing to trust God for him to show you have to do so.
Jeremiah 29:4-11 CEV, “I gave the letter to Elasah and Gemariah, two men that King Zedekiah of Judah was sending to Babylon to talk with Nebuchadnezzar. In the letter, I wrote that the Lord All-Powerful, the God of Israel, had said: I had you taken from Jerusalem to Babylonia. Now I tell you that the Lord All-Powerful, the God of Israel, had said: I had you taken from Jerusalem to Babylonia. Now I tell you to settle there and build houses. Plant gardens and eat what you grow in them. Get married and have children, then help your sons find wives and help your daughters find husbands, so they can have children as well. I want your numbers to grow, not to get smaller. Pray for peace in Babylonia and work hard to make it prosperous. The more successful that nation is, the better off you will be. Some of your people there in Babylonia are fortunetellers, and you have asked them to tell you what will happen in the future. But they will only lead you astray with their dreams. And don’t let the prophets fool you, either. They speak in my name, but they are liars. I have not spoken to them. that the Lord All-Powerful, the God of Israel, had said: I had you taken from Jerusalem to Babylonia. After Babylonia has been the strongest nation for 70 years, I will be kind and bring you back to Jerusalem, just as I have promised. I will bless you with a future filled with hope—a future of success, not of suffering.”
If you knew who you were, you would be bothered with anyone who forces you to do anything that causes you kill, steal, and destroy others and yourself for fun. God does not require you to do such, he will set you up with a future that is specifically assigned to you according to your gifts, talents, and DNA that will allow you to shine like he wants you too. This should let you know that there is no such thing as competition because we all can win if we learn to walk in who we are meant to be. God had enough riches, abundance, and prosperity for everyone to go around.
3.You Cannot Be Flakey ( Must Decide Who You Will Serve)
Those who value loyalty cannot stand to face those who pretend to be loyal . Basically being flakey. Guess what, God does not like it either. God wants those who will ride for him and stick things out with him. Trust him when all odds are against the wall and darkness is close near you.
God will search our hearts and recognize who were are and what we are willing to do. God is powerful and he makes us all clean and new again. He is also dedicated to protecting us spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically. It is a process but trust God is patience along the way.
James 1:2-8 CEV, “ If you are that kind of person, you can’t make up your mind, and you surely can’t be trusted. So don’t expect the Lord to give you anything at all. My friends, be glad, even if you have a lot of trouble. You know you learn to endure by having your faith tested. But you must learn to endure everything, so you will be completely mature and not lacking in anything. If any of you need wisdom, you should ask God, and it will be given to you. God is generous and won’t correct you for asking. But when you ask for something, you must have faith and not doubt. Anyone who doubts is like an ocean wave tossed around in a storm.”
There will times in your life when you walk alone and no one will understand who you are or where you are going. With faith, you are supposed to walk your path anyway. You do not need anyone’s stamp of approval for your destiny but God. Many make the mistake of looking for a approval from others to see if they have what it takes.
The interesting thing is that “man will always deny what they have not seen or heard of before.” Don’t take it as shade, many are still conditioned to believe the seen than the unseen. Walk it out anyway!
4.Be Willing to Suffer (Growing Pains)
As you endure the process, you will endure some suffering but trust it will work out for your good. God will protect you but he will allow you to face things just to let others know who he really is.
This statement is not meant to make you fearful.
It is meant to keep you aware that God does heal and restore, but he did not say thing would become easier. God promised us he would be there with us in the storms (Isaiah 41:10) giving us strength to endure. He doesn’t want any of us to hurt.
The suffering is for you to pass the test so you can tell your testimony. It is not to show case how powerful and positive you are. Your story should magnify how great God is!
Don’t be scared to suffer because you will always gain better and more than you had previously. You will have a chance to live our your prosperity on earth as it is in heaven.
Matthew 5:11-12 CEV, “God will bless you when people insult you, mistreat you, and tell all kinds of evil lies about you because of me. Be happy and excited! You will have a great reward in heaven. People did these same things to the prophets who lived long ago.”
You must trust that no matter what you are in good hands as long as you obey your Father in heaven. Trust when he says no it is for your protection. Anything you get too soon is a curse not a blessing because you will misuse it than appreciate it. Trust the process the process and trust your suffering is not just for you but others too. People need to hear your story so you can overcome your pain and show others how too!
5. Recognize You Can and Will be the Light of God
The more you preserve through the process, the more you will shed and the more you will shine. Following God lead, will always cause you to shine because it is the light that is shining within. Many believe that it is material things like the cars, a career, clothes, family, and money that causes you to shine.
This will help you to shine more to people but not God. God love for you is not measured by how much you build. It is all about will you trust him and learn to love people (all and not certain ones). It is out of your obedience and honor in relationship with God that causes you to be fruitful and multiple. The reason being is because you chose to leave behind things that were no longer serving just to get to what God says you can have (promise).
Matthew 5:14-16 CEV, “You are the light for the whole world. A city built on top of a hill cannot be hidden, and no one lights a lamp and puts it under a clay pot. Instead, it is placed on a lampstand, where it can give light to everyone in the house. Make your light shine, so others will see the good you do and will praise your Father in heaven.”
God will clean you out and heal you from your past. He will make you free and let you know what true freedom is. It’s not what others pretend it to be. It is who you become. You can be free on the outside and be in prisoner in your mind. You serve the Lord, he help you to live a free and prosperous life. You will shine because of his light and power that lives within you.
He let you know that material possessions do not make you but you were meant to make materials possessions to serves people for his glory. You have to be humble enough to know you would not be where he wants to take you without his help. Those who were raised with proper Etiquette know you always show appreciation to those who helped you.
At the end of the day, it is not about the what you eat, drink, wear, or drive. It’s is about who will you be servant of in your life? It’s all about fulfilling the essence of your soul and fulfilling your true calling and destiny! Trust, you do not have all the answers for your life no matter how well you pretend you do. Ask yourself today is your pain of your past worth more than your future (Destiny) ?
