Cutting Season: Needle and Thread

Everyone is searching for that one person or one group that will support us, accept us, acknowledge us, and love us in the matter we always expect mentally, emotionally, physically, and financially.

One of the most emotionally hurtful things I have experienced is being vulnerable with a person, stranger, or group of people, family,or etc. They use my vulnerability against me.

They either expose me, criticize me, downsized my ideas, or misinterpret my intentions. It doesn’t hurt when I did it to others, but I definitely felt that ish when it was done to me. Ironic huh?

We live in a world where we are always trying to overcome and fight darkness. So many of us are breaking family curses, where we are exhausted.

Exhausted from facing multiple battles, lack of support, lack of relations, lack of structure, and lack of income. Searching for a way to live to make a better life for ourselves and hope to be fortunate enough to build a  better life for those close.

Now, it is definitely the time to cut away those things that push you away from God’s word upon your life’s purpose and those connected to you. Whatever you believe God for, the time is coming to pass. Allow yourself to embrace the new in your life and prepare for what is next in your life.

I enjoy fashion and I enjoy clothes that appeal to my eye. My style is usually bohemian, chic, artsy, and casual wear. The shape of the clothing will always let me know whether or not it will instantiate my figure. It is cut of the clothing, the pattern, and the colors that catches my eye.

I took a fashion design class in the eighth grade, which I was attempting to design my own pair of crop pants that would scrunch on the side and tie with silk material.

The interesting thing is that I got frustrated making the pants because I had a lack direction, patience, focus, and belief to help me to persevere to complete the project.

When I started, I had all the motivation and potential in this world. I knew how I wanted my pants to look and could not wait to sport my pair of pants that I was going to make.

Due to my lack of so I thought, I ended up not finishing the pants and tolerating failure in the class due to my lack of. Since, I had an immature mind with immature concepts, I thought that too much obstacles meant to stop and it was not meant to be. The funny things I remember linking up with people in the class, who felt the same way. We laughed, played, and wasted time.

I felt I was doing right now because I found a group individual who shared my same fears and disbelief so I decided to hang out with those I was comfortable with rather hang out with the individuals, who were willing to challenge themselves to finish the project.

Those who persevered finished the project and did it well. Due my lack of perseverance and fear, I was left with mixed match pieces and unfinished project.

I was disappointed because I knew I could have finished the project, but I allowed my ego to feed my the lie that giving up was better than trying and messing up. Wrong! I failed because I gave up and I didn’t even attempt to try.

That was the story my life for many different things in my life that were meant for me to achieve. I missed the opportunity to grow because my fears seemed to overpower my mind, body, soul and spirit.

I am more wise and dealt with plenty of obstacles. I have learned that my lacks, distractions, and mistakes are all meant to shape me for the purpose for my life.

When designing clothing, the three main supplies needed include scissors to cut away the unnecessary fabric, thread to woven the chosen fabric together, and a needle use as a tool to help woven the fabric together in the shape that will instantiate a person’s figure.

The tools are needed to create a masterpiece needed to serve the purpose of displaying creativity (status) protection, and security to the body.

I am talking about designing clothing because God is doing the same with us. By cutting away those stale, narcissistic, and limits beliefs. Once we have decided to give up our beliefs, then we are also asking to put us together and to shape us in a form that’s fits the purpose for our life.

The cutting away is difficult and painful because you have to forgive situations and circumstances you felt you needed to hold dear to your conscious, heart, mind and soul. We were made to stretch, grow, change, and evolve. This means we are constantly in motion developing into someone new everyday.

While, you are cutting away those things that are not of you. You will have others trying to convince you that you have not changed because they have not done the work themselves to see the change within you.

You will shift, others around you will talk about the positivity mindset you hold about self. This is all a test to see if you will allow yourself to be lead by the spirit or ego.

The ego will influence you to fight your own battles with your hands and mouth by defending yourself because you fear your reputation to be in jeopardy. This another test for God to see if you willing to love and live with your ego more than your spirit.

Remember, those who are talking about you are doing less work than you are. They are living with fear of stepping out of their comfort zone that they are too afraid to step into.

Unfortunately, some will talk about you so they can stop what you are doing, so they can be the first to achieve what you working so hard to accomplish now. Don’t sweat the small talk… let your actions speak louder than your words.

Don’t worry about the situation or circumstance, God will take care those who sabotage you just get ahead.  If it bothers you it is just your ego tugging at you not your spirit.

Galatians‬ ‭5:7-10 CEV, “You were doing so well until someone made you turn from the truth. And that person was certainly not sent by the one who chose you. A little yeast can change a whole batch of dough, but you belong to the Lord. This makes me certain you will do what I say, instead of what someone else tells you to do. Whoever is causing trouble for you will be punished.”

See God always has your back, those who believe otherwise don’t seem to have close knit relationships with God or the divine spiritual realm. It could also mean that they have not experienced God in the way you have.

Their view of God is different. God is a spirit not a religion. Many do not know the difference or cannot seem to decide between the two. God is so amazing you cannot capture him in a category or group.

He is above all things. He understanding is so far from ours. God is filled with positivity, love, peace, and joy. Anything opposite of that is not of God. Please know the difference.

Galatians‬ ‭5:22-23‬ ‭CEV‬‬,” God’s Spirit makes us loving, happy, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle, and self-controlled. There is no law against behaving in any of these ways.”

When you are operating with your spirit when troubles arrives. It will always allow you to see the bigger picture and fight in prayer.

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭4:2‬ ‭CEV‬‬, “Never give up praying. And when you pray, keep alert and be thankful.”

Accept you are working progress, where you are not just achieving one destination but many. Prove yourself and others wrong. Be bold and beautiful! You will always need God no matter how high you thrive. Stay humble and be obedient. Believe that things will always work out if you listen to the guidance of the Lord.

Note, you are everything that everyone says you are not. You are not what everyone says you are. Embrace your cutting season because you will appreciate when all the things God promised you has arrived. Humans may not keep their promises but God will always keep his.

Recognize that the scissors, needle, and thread work well together to create a beautiful work of art needed to serve people. So, trust that the rumors, lies, disbelief, and the nostalgia moments are all working out for your good. You just have to work really hard to achieve it! You are the work art God worked so hard to create. It is time to pay him back for all he has done for you.  You mean something to him if no one else sees your worth. You got this!
